Notable Projects
Route 220 Emergency Bore
Location: Franklin County, VA
Description: Performed a 200 foot bore to install a new 48-inch storm drain under Route 220 in Franklin County. This was an emergency order from the Virginia Department of Transportation. In order to access the existing storm drain, we dug a 35 foot vertical shaft, using an engineered steel liner plate system to shore excavation.
10th Street Improvements
Location: Roanoke, VA
Description: Performed a complete reconstruction of a portion of 10th Street in Roanoke, VA. This included installing all new water, sewer and storm systems, new underground storm water detention systems and a complete reconstruction of the roadway and pedestrian facilities. This project also included the installation of a pre-cast arch bridge structure for the Lick Run Greenway crossing. Before construction, pedestrians/cyclists had to cross 10th Street to use the greenway. The pre-cast arch bridge created a separated crossing, routing greenway traffic underneath the roadway.
Trout Run Drainage Structure
Location: Roanoke, VA
Description: Installed liner plates in existing arch culvert underground in downtown Roanoke. The plates were installed to reinforce the existing underground drainage tunnel in order to support the Amtrack Train station on Norfolk Ave.
